Happy New York Fashion week!
Today marks Day 1 of New York Fashion week and the runway shows and events are bound to be in session. From fashion connoisseurs, to designers and stylists, this is the time of the year when everyone is booked & busy.
However, if you're in the New York Area and have room in your schedule to fit in a museum showing, I highly recommend checking out the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime held at the Brooklyn Museum. Not only does Mugler's collection deliver the ultimate WOW factor, but it reminds you of why Mugler has remained iconic since his inception in the 70's and after his demise.
The French Designer is known for his unorthodox, risqué and edgy design's as well as his legendary perfumes: Thierry Mugler. Not to mention, his exceptional ability to utilize fabrics such as latex, vinyl and chrome that indefinitely has changed the fashion industry.
It was Mugler's bold ability to take risks that set him apart from other French designers which is exactly why we can't review a MET Gala without seeing a celebrity in a Theirry Mugler design.From Celebs like Cardi B and Kim Kardashian, to Beyonce and Ciara, Mugler's designs are always show-stopping a red carpet.
In fact, some the exact same designs that we've seen our favorite celebs wear, are showcased at his exhibit inside of the Brooklyn Museum. I was so surprised to see Cardi B's 2019 Grammy's look (See first pic below) featured at the exhibit along with other haute couture pieces and costumes that look like they were out of this world.
Mugler's exhibit is absolutely outstanding and a must-see during New York Fashion week. Thierry Mugler's collection will be held at the Brooklyn Museum until May 7, 2023 and I can assure you that if you attend, you will be in for a treat. Check out some of his designs below!
